West Hawaii Today is celebrating Mother’s Day with an all-new contest especially for our Big Island Makuahine!
We need to hear how your mother has been the most inspirational force in your life.
Submit photos and a descriptive story to highlighting how your mother has inspired you in your personal and/or professional life. The submission with the most votes will win their choice of our many prizes including a “Waimoana” experience at the world class Kohala Spa located at the Hilton Waikoloa. Ultimate relaxation for the ultimate mother!!
Here are the basic entry guidelines:
• Contest submissions will begin April 15, 2012 and end April 30, 2012 at midnight (12 am HST). All qualified entries will be submitted for judging and voted on by our readers beginning on May 1, 2012. The grand-prize winner will be chosen by open vote by our readers. The voting period ends on May 10, 2012 at midnight (12 am HST). The votes will then be tallied and the winner contacted by May 11, 2012.
• Each entry must be an original photograph (by the entrant) whose mother resides on the Isle of Hawaii (Big Island).
• The title and description of the action must contain no more than 100 words.
• Entrants must successfully upload the photograph to the “My Mother, My Inspiration” contest page by midnight (12 am HST) Monday, April 30, 2012.
• The submission must not be defamatory, offensive or obscene nor violate or infringe on any trademark, copyright, publicity, privacy or other rights of any third party
• The winners will be featured on www.westhawaiitoday.com and in our West Hawaii Today print publication and must be willing to submit to photographs for both. Any participating sponsors may subsequently use the winning image in conjunction with announcements for the purposes of this contest.
Don’t know how to judge?
Judge on the basis of uniqueness of description telling why your mom is special (30%), emotional appeal of photos (30%), creativity of photo(s) (25%), and technical and aesthetic photography skills (15%).
